Why Crafts With Felt Are One of the Best Craft Ideas by Steve Evans

Crafts with felt are some of the easiest crafts you can devise to actually create something really pleasant in a short time period, and at the same time the novice craft maker, or hobbyist, will gain the rewards that we all feel once we have made something.

Felt materials can be bought quite cheaply in a huge range of bright and cheerful colours, and using this as the basis for a craft project comes naturally. People enjoy handling felt. It feels good in the hand, and all that is needed are some reasonably sharp scissors or safety knife to cut even the most elaborate shapes.

You can make a very large range of little and not so little things from felt. When I was at school a good many years ago I made colorful little purses, with a heavy thread, and constant rethreading of the sewing needle by my mother. What's more Aunts and Uncles even seemed to really like these when given as mini-gifts within the family.

Another favorite which can be made with felt, are finger puppets, and larger hand puppets when you have the additional inspiration to tackle a larger project.

Felt looks great when in bold primary colors, and always feels good in the hand. Cutting is also simply achieved with any good, reasonably sharp, pair of scissors.

Use your felt both for your craft projects as a main material, and as a lining. While usually best sewn onto other materials, it can also be glued.

All these benefits which felt provides

The Felt Craft [http://feltcrafts.org/] web site is well worth a visit for EVERYONE planning to do some felt craft work Much invaluable additional reading is available about uses of felt as a material is available from the linked site in he previous sentence.
