Shana Kohnstamm is a sculptural fibre artist with an incredible skill and passion for felting. With an innate connection to organic form she creates her pieces through a combination of needle and wet felting techniques.

Although many of her pieces are like nothing you have ever seen before they ooze familiarity. Some works are more edgy with a hint of unease but her work is always thought provoking. Shana has an incredible ability to take what at first glance appears a simple form and create an contemplative experience for her audience, leaving them wrestling with a range of feelings they can't quite put into words.

Shana has experimented with adding different materials into her work (plastic, wire and electricity are just a few) and is a constantly evolving artist. Dying the fibres herself is integral to her work and this is evidenced by the stunning colour experiences to be enjoyed in every piece. In her own words, Shana's goal is 'first to delight and entertain' herself, and then 'to communicate that joy to others'. Definitely one to watch!
